Consumer Reports Hailed iPhone 5 as the “Best iPhone Yet”
Consumer Reports called iPhone 5 as the “best iPhone yet” after completing their lab tests.
In a recent news release, the organization said the iPhone 5′s 4-inch display; thinner and lighter profile; 4G LTE access; and a myriad of innovative features all helped the device to move up in the ranks — surpassing not only the iPhone 4S but also other new Android smartphones.
Consumer Reports also cited iPhone 5′s 8-megapixel camera as the best they’ve seen on a smartphone after it proved its capability to capture beautifully sharp and vibrant photos.
On the other hand, Consumer Reports did admit that the iPhone 5 fell short on a couple of areas. For example, the Apple Maps, which draw numerous complaints from customers, lacks the details, traffic data, and customization options offered by the free Google navigation app found on Android phones. Still, they find the app relatively streamlined and competent enough in providing clear guidance, including voice and on-screen directions.
Furthermore, the team did not find the iPhone 5′s low-light and flash shots to be notably better than those from the iPhone 4S.
Consumer Reports also tested the FlyOver feature and said that it delivered rather intriguing 3D representations despite instances of “melting” buildings, bridges, and other landmarks in 3D mode.
