Skype Introduces Photo Sharing for iOS and Improved Mobile App
The early 2000s witnessed the proliferation of online photo sharing services, with Yahoo! Photos and Flickr as among the first to attract the attention of Internet users. But now, as mobile apps continue to grow, photo sharing feature is quick to enter the race. Skype is the latest to join the bandwagon when it recently announced in its official blog the launch of Photo Sharing feature for iPhone and iPad devices.
The new feature allows iPhone and iPad users to send photos to friends and family via Skype without having to worry about reaching email file size limits or paying pricey MMS charges.
In addition to the Photo Sharing for iOS feature, Skype also made some improvements to the performance of the mobile app to maximize user experience. The improved version of the app is less battery hungry when running in the background; therefore, allowing you to answer Skype calls or send IMs to loved ones throughout the day. The latest release also had an improved app start and the contact list loads even faster, so you can do all the things you love to do with Skype more quickly.
Skype for iOS is free to download in Apple iTunes App Store now. The new Skype app supports iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4/4S, 3rd Generation iPod touch, or any version of the iPad.
