Apple’s Next iPhone Will Sport Slimmer Screen According to a Report
When there’s news about iPhone, it seems that every tech buff is sure to listen. A perfect example is the report saying that Apple is expected to unveil a new iPhone with a slimmer screen before the year ends.
Dow Jones Newswires quoted unnamed sources for saying that the next generation iPhone is being manufactured by Asian component makers. It reported that the new iPhone, fondly called by fans as the iPhone 5, will be featuring panels using “in-cell technology” that integrates touch sensors into the LCD.
The said technology will reduce the screen thickness by about half a millimetre, thereby, helping Apple to cut cost as it will no longer need to buy touch panels and LCDs from separate suppliers. Â Additionally, it is expected to boost displayed image quality.
Initial rumors reveal that the iPhone 5 will be released on September, but an Examiner report indicated that a possible launch may take place as early as August.
Apple remained quiet on the subject despite various speculations flying in the rumor mill about the exact release date of iPhone 5.
