Ashton Kutcher as Steve Jobs in Upcoming Biopic
Reports say that Hollywood actor Ashton Kutcher, who has more than 10 million followers on Twitter, will be playing the role of the late tech genius Steve Jobs in an independent biopic to be produced and financed by Five Star Institute’s Mark Hulme.
Writer / director / actor Joshua Michael Stern is said to direct the film with the working title “Jobs” and a script by Matt Whiteley. Production is expected to start in May when Kutcher is on hiatus from his hit CBS series Two and a Half Men.
If they waste no further time, which seems to be the case, “Jobs” will be able to show Jobs’ legendary rise from a regular fellow in Northern California to co-founder of tech giant Apple before Sony can even get started. Last fall, Sony obtained film rights to the authorized biography by Walter Isaacson published just within weeks of Jobs’ death.
Kutcher is a known fan of Steve Jobs. When Jobs passed away last year, Kutcher posted on his Twitter account: “I never thought I could be so busted up about the loss of someone I never met. Sending love & light to everyone @Apple & the entire Jobs family. Today we lost a giant who will be missed even by those who didn’t know him.”
